Special Events 🎉✨
Quad participants may request special events such as Female-only Quads events, 5-Round State Qualifier events, and Head-to-Head Team events. The tournament director always has discretion whether to run a special event or not. Advanced notice of any special requests increases the odds of running those events!
Female-Only Quads require four or more females who wish to compete in the same quad(s) regardless of ratings. Female-only quads should last 1-2.5 hours each.
5-Round State Qualifier Events require six K-8 students from four different schools who agree to play five rounds. Five round events should last 2-4 hours total.
Head-to-Head Team Events are when participants from 2-6 groups compete head-to-head in a quad or round robin format. For example, teams could be school chess clubs, friend groups, or chess Meetups, or competing in a special tournament!
